Dr Samara qualified from the well-known Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. She was a member of the Executive Committee of the European Dental Students Association. She received a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) for her postgraduate studies in the UK. Elpida studied at the School of Health and Related Research at the University of Sheffield in the UK and was awarded a Master in Public Health with specialization in Management and Leadership. Elpida achieved the highest mark in national recruitment and was accepted at the Specialisation Programme in Oral Surgery. As a first year trainee Elpida was honored with a Travel Grant Research Award at the European Association for Osseointegration Conference for her research in implants placement in the aesthetic zone. She presented her thesis on the knowledge of general dental practioners for the current guidelines of oral and anticoagulants and antiplatelets medications. Elpida has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations in national and international conferences. She is Editorial Board Member in international journals. Elpida currently works as a Clinical Tutor in Oral Surgery at the University of Birmingham and a Speciality doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
