What is the recruitment process for a treatment coordinator?

In most cases, you should expect an initial screening phone call with a mydentist recruiter, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the role and gives us a chance to assess your suitability for the opportunity. You will then be invited into the practice for a face-to-face interview. You are likely to be offered a tour around the practice as part of your visit and the opportunity to meet some key members of the team. There will then be a final stage virtual interview so you can meet the relevant regional Private and Specialist Development Manager. After this interview, we will make the decision on whether we would like to proceed in making an offer and contact you to let you know the outcome of your application.

Do I need dental experience to apply? You do not need experience in the dental sector to become a treatment coordinator at a mydentist practice. We instead look for candidates who can bring their customer service and communication skills to life. We consider experience of generating leads and converting sales advantageous, in addition to an interest in marketing or experience of promoting a brand, product or service via social media.

What support and training will I receive as a treatment coordinator?

All new treatment coordinators follow a comprehensive induction plan designed to give the best introduction to the role. During the induction process, will also work closely with your regional Private and Specialist Development Manager and be invited to join a network in your area and region of current treatment coordinators. A practice manager will act as your line manager and provide you with direction and support. In some practices there are several treatment coordinators so you may have peers on site too.

What are the opportunities from progression in this role?

Many of our treatment coordinators go on to progress into practice management roles. Treatment coordinators who wish to develop may go on to support and mentor new treatment coordinators within an area. They may also get to work closely with the private and specialist development manager for the region and get the opportunity to support with business projects and initiatives.
